Welcome to Kirklevington Primary School
High Flying Year Six Celebrate At Kirklevington Primary School!
Our Year Six children are celebrating a fantastic set of results this year, achieving the expected standards in Reading and Maths, 90% achieving the expected standard in Writing, and 100% of them achieving the standard in Spelling and Grammar. This compares to national results of 71% in reading, 76% in writing, 77% in Spelling and Grammar and 75% in Maths.
Chair of Governors, Alison Parker, said “I am delighted these students have had their hard work recognised with such a great set of results. Not only that, but our departing Year Six have developed into mature and self-motivated individuals during their time here. I wish them every success in whatever the future holds for them and I know they will always hold Kirklevington School fondly in their hearts!”
We are proud of each and every one of them!
“This is a good school” – view our latest Ofsted Report (July 2015)
Dear Parents and Visitors,
We are delighted that you have taken the time to look at our school website.
Kirklevington Primary School is a small school, with 132 children, including 15 children in Nursery. As year group sizes can vary, the organisation of class groups may change from year to year. Currently, we have 5 class groups, in addition to our morning Nursery class. We were rated as GOOD in all areas during the latest OFSTED inspection in July 2015 and are very proud of the fantastic report we received.
We pride ourselves on our small, friendly, village school ethos, where each child is unique and precious. Our aim is to give all our children the best possible start to life within a happy, caring environment. We have high ambitions for all of our children and make sure that their learning is both enjoyable and rewarding.
Academic, sporting and artistic performance are encouraged, with an emphasis on the values that go with this. Our dedication to providing a range of experiences for children can be seen through our commitment to sporting activities, resulting in us being one of a small number of schools to achieve the School Games Gold Award for the last two years, our partnership with Conyers Music, providing specialist music teachers for all key stage 2 children, as well as the opportunity to learn drums, woodwind, brass, guitar and cello in school and our work with local artists, including the preparation of a glass sculpture to be displayed on the route of the Stockton Cycling Race.
We believe that working in close partnership with parents and families is key to ensuring that children make the best start to their education. There are regular opportunities for parents to engage with school, through visiting classrooms, supporting school work and sharing children’s successes.
Children have just one childhood; we believe that their primary school experience should be magical and wondrous, filled with inspirational and unforgettable experiences. At Kirklevington, we know it is both our duty and privilege to help children enjoy their precious childhood years, building a firm foundation for their future lives.
We do have some places available within the school, so please do contact us if you are interested in discussing this further. We hope that you will find all the information on our website useful and helpful, but should you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to have a look around our school, please contact Dawn Crosson on 01642 781261.
